Community
Years ago, I met a woman in an organization I was part of. At first, I thought for sure we would not become friends. I based that assumption on how she dressed, what she did for work, the way she spent her money, etc. Imagine my surprise when we became the best of friends. This experience taught me a valuable lesson. We don’t have to be the same to find common ground. We are made stronger by our differences. This experience also taught me to be less judgmental. It taught me that I should never assume I know someone’s life or experiences. I have been blessed by so many wonderful people from all walks of life.
I am so happy to be a part of the Waconia community. We live in a great town with so many wonderful people! I have so much hope and excitement for our future. I want everyone to feel welcome, and I want everyone to feel represented on our school board. I promise that as a school board member, I will seek out the diverse perspectives and voices that represent our community.
