Transparency & Accountability

Transparency & Accountability

You have probably heard a lot about the concepts of transparency and accountability in the last few years, especially in terms of government and corporations. It might almost seem cliche, but I believe we hear so much about them because they are so important, and the public craves leaders who are both transparent and accountable.

These two principles play a huge part in how I try to navigate the world. Talking about real issues and bringing information to light are things I vow to do as a school board member. With this in mind, I want to be transparent about my agenda as I am running for school board: I don’t have an agenda. I don’t have any policies I am trying to push through. My “Agenda” is to be a trustworthy school board member who will work hard to represent all the views and voices in the community.

Accountability is also extremely important to me. If you ask any of my children, they would probably tell you that I have drilled this important principle into them. I always strive to admit when I have been wrong or made a mistake. I believe being accountable is the pinnacle of integrity, and I promise to bring this value with me as a school board member.
